CEH or LTP ?
In order to become an LTP (Licensed Penetration Tester), you first need to be ECSA certified and 
I believe CEH is a prerequisite for the ECSA.Ecsa is easier than CEH because it does not cover a wide 
​variety of topics as in CEH. Its more focused on pentesting and analysis. 

The combo course of CEH Version 7 and ECSA fulfills the prerequisites of a Licensed Penetration Tester.
​To obtain LPT a candidate must:Achieve the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) Version 7 Certification.Achieve the EC-Council Certified Security Analyst (ECSA) certification.Fill up and submit the LPT Application form along with required documents and payment ($500) to EC-Council directly.

Value of CEH ?
CEH will be in demand in the future. The world is becoming more and more dependant on the internet, So good protection agains attacks is priority one. 
CEH alone may not help you immediately, But in future it should help you, However if you need career growth, go for CISSP after CEH.This gives you a definate boost in your career. CISSP is the KING !!!

Differences CEHv7 vs CEHv8?
CEH v8 is a highly prominent credential which is internationally recognized by NSA, CNSS and ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 standard.
*  DoD (Department of Defense) approved - under 'Directive 8570' and CND (Computer Network Defense) category
*  CEH v8 specifically includes support for securing mobile platforms by inclusion of a dedicated mobile hacking module

How many questions about hacking tools are in CEH exam?
Some of the tools that are usually tested are Netcat, Cryptcat, Firewalk, John the Ripper, SID2User, lots of stuff on Nmap, Etercap, Hping2, Tcpdump.
​What you'll come across alot are logs of firewalls and results of the mentioned tools and you'll be expected to know what they mean. E.g what kind of attacks took place, dos, buffer overflow etc.

Is CEH trainning required?
Self Study Options:
If you have opted for self-study and not attended training, you must have at least two years of information security related experience.
Please fill the Exam Eligibility Form. Upon approval, EC-Council will send you an eligibility voucher number which you can use to register and schedule the test at any Authorized Prometric Testing Center globally.
